Individuals who will create any form of oral, visual, or aural communications will benefit from the course and learn to make effective and memorable presentations. These presentations could be for internal staff, community groups, SME businesses or other local associations.
What happens in the workshop?
- Participants learn how to build a presentation from basic principles (who is in the audience, what they need to know, what is the presentation seeking to achieve) and draws on the latest communication and motivation research to identify the most effective arguments.
- Participants look in detail at three styles of presentation - speaking from notes, slideshows, and facilitating interactive workshops - and addresses the strengths and potential pitfalls of each of them.
- There is a lot of fast moving pair and group work giving all participants extensive practice (and supportive feedback) for all these formats.
- Participants are strongly encouraged to bring their own specific presentation needs to the workshop and will leave with a detailed toolkit to apply to their own projects.
