Support to national climate change networks

COIN actively participates in and develops various networks nationally to support the mobilisation of Carbon Action Groups, Carbon Reduction Initiatives and Organisations locally. These networks include:

‘Climate Alliance’-The Alliance for Jobs, Climate and Community (AJCC)

Building on the diverse meetings of ‘Climate Forum’ COIN is working closely with representatives from trade unions, community groups,  green organisations and faith groups such Campaign against Climate Change,  Operation Noah, Climate Camp, HACAN Clear skies and representatives of trade unions to establish a new national alliance. The ‘Climate Alliance’ (AJCC) brings together organisations and individuals working for effective policies to tackle climate change and welcomes any individual or organisation which supports its aims to become a supporter of the organisation.

Stop Climate Chaos Coalition (SCCC)

A long term member and supporter of the Stop Climate Chaos Coalition, COIN is currently supporting the development and promotion of the ‘Big Climate Connection’. November 2010 is a key time for climate politics and to ensure that together we can really influence some big issues SCCC are calling for the following actions:

  • International: A lobby will take place three weeks before the UN Climate Talks in Cancun, Mexico.
  • Domestic: A new UK Energy Bill will be before Parliament in November.
  • Local: Local lobbyists will link the climate asks in with local issues, to show our MPs that climate change really is relevant to them. Join The Big Climate Connection!

Connect the issues to stop climate chaos.

The Stop Climate Chaos Coalition is calling for people across the UK to connect with others in their communities and meet their MPs on 5th-6th November. With supporters from more than 100 organisations coming together locally, we’ll show MPs that people from all walks of life – from environment to development groups, unions to local community and health groups - are calling for action on climate change.
