The Ecovation Website
Visit the Ecovation website for comprehensive information and advice for owner-occupiers wishing to renovate their homes to the highest possible energy standards. The website and learning network is intended to create a web-based community to enable experienced or newly-persuaded eco-renovators, or 'ecovators', to share information and discuss issues and projects.
Website content is divided into topics such as insulation, ventilation, solar and wind technologies, summer cooling, materials, lighting and water and sewerage. The website includes case studies, open days and publications.
How to do an Ecovation Open Day
An Ecovation Open Day is where householders in a local area open up their homes to members of the public to show what they have done to eco-renovate their homes. Ecovation Open Days in Oxfordshire have run in conjunction with Heritage Open Days, which celebrates England's fantastic architecture and culture by offering free access to properties that are usually closed to the public or charge admission. We think that eco-renovated and eco-built houses ought to play a major role in this event.
Why have an Ecovation open day?
• Offer people the opportunity to see what Low- and Zero-Carbon technologies could be applied to homes, and gain practical advice from house owners
• Increase the network of Eco-renovators
• Increase the profile of home eco-renovations, to demonstrate what is possible for individual home owners, to stimulate demand
